How accessible is your web site?

One day you will find that text on your favourite web site becomes difficult to read. One day you will find the fine motor skills going as your body ages. When you are old, perhaps frail and perhaps in ill health, won't you be glad that your favourite sites are accessible and readable to all. I will be. So make sure your web site is accessible too.

TAW Accessibility Test
Another great online resource. This is one of my favourites. TAW (Web Accessibility Test) is a tool for the analysis of Web sites, based on the World Wide Web consortium - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0)

A good web tool with a nice reporting format. Not sure exactly what it checks for and how reliable this web service is, but I like it and use it for quick analysis and reference.

Another good web tool with an excellent reporting tool. Follow the links to see exactly what is wrong with your web site. I was impressed with this web site.

Text Viewer - What does your web site look like?
This web service lets you see what your web pages will look like (sort of) when viewed with a text-mode web browser. (ie Text Only.) Of some use of course but nothing unexpected turns up. Worth checking your web site. If your site validates or looks fine you can put the "Lynx Inspected" icon on your page if you wish.

includes WCAG 1.0 Web site accessibility checker
Amazing site. This web site really has one of the most intuitive and informative reporting screens I have ever seen. I LOVE this web site. Try it!

Site scoring using tests
This is a tool that although nice to use, the warnings are all quite severe. Such as 'this site is currently illegal under UK Law' when in fact all you have done is used the heading tag a bit too judiciously. They are selling their enterprise tools to very large organisations. However some nice enough stuff, just don't take this one too seriously.
