The best place to get information about Google is from Google itself.

For information from google about popular search terms, have a look at their zeitgeist. It is full of interesting but often obscure information.

To read Google's press releases (which can be a bit dull) visit googlepress.blogspot.com.

Again this information can be a bit obscure but occassionally there are gems to be found!

Finally, the most self explanatory link ever, the google.co.uk/sitemap.

I have found lots of blogs and sites about Google but most are written by amateurs for amateurs. There are however great sites too. 

A search for 'Google'at the Google Blog Search gives you the whole shebang. Take a look for yourself. 

An interesting voice is google watch which proclaims itself as anti-google. Some intersting articles here and I have read it avidly. Be warned the content is of variable quality and is certainly 'iffy' in places. It is good to get a different point of view but as my dear old mum used to say, 'just because someone wrote it down doesn't make it true.'
