A .co.uk domain name can cost as little as £2.99 a year and professional hosting from as little as £5 a month. For a simple 5-10 page website expect to pay about £300.

A professional shop, with full back office facilities, should cost about £2000 and be good for on-line trading volumes of up to a million pounds.
