How to write great content to ensure good search engine rankings. So how does SEO copywriting differ from print or traditional article writing?

Q:When writing copy for articles on my website, how long should I make each article?

A: There are varied opinions on this.

Some say one screen chould be your limit so that readers don't have to scroll.

Others say at least 150 words.

Yet more people say the more the merrier. 'Long' is best.

I believe that the content should reflect the topic. A review of a link should be long enough to convey some information about the site that is being linked to. An article should be long enough to add value to the reader.

The trick is to get original content that is interesting. Too short is frustrating and will add little value, too long could be waffle or repeat content and be regarded as spam content.

Let the information decide for itself and forget the search engines for deciding length.

What would you want to read?

Do not try to con the search engines by splitting a 500 word article into five pages of 100 word articles and adding intro's. This will only frustrate the reader and is usually a sign of a sales pitch building to a crescendo!
